Oh Happy Day!

Eric and I became God Parents this weekend! Our sweet little niece, Amelia Eleanor, was baptised during a really beautiful and intimate ceremony. We are both so honored that her parents chose us. Eric did a wonderful job holding her during the actual baptism, and she didn’t cry at all. The priest, Father Kirby, is a wonderful man who really made the event special. We all went out to dinner after (My parents came to town as did my brother-in-law’s family) including the priest and had a wonderful time talking to him about his life and his decision to become a Catholic. Ever since we moved Eric and I have had a hard time getting motivated to go to church. After committing to Amelia to help to guide her spiritual journey, we have renewed our desire to go to church.

With all the family in town it made for a very eventful weekend. On Friday night we took my parents to a delicious new sushi place we found- thank goodness we finally found good sushi here that isn’t too pricey- and it is right down the street from our house! On Saturday we got together with the whole Coleman crew to take them to the Salt Lick for BBQ. It was good as always, but, please forgive me for saying and don’t burn me at the stake- I think I am Salt Licked out, if there is such a thing. Eric and I don’t really go to the Salt Lick anymore unless we have guests in town so since we have no visitors on the calendar, then maybe the break will do us some good!
Lets see, what else. Oh! 4 more days ’til VEGAS!!! Today I tried to talk Eric into possibly going somewhere else, but I think we are going to stick with it. We don’t have any reservations so we are just going to wing it- how adventurous are we, huh?! Wish us luck- maybe this time we’ll hit a big jackpot!!
