Fourth of July Week

July 9th, 2007 by Ellie

After a busy weekend do you ever feel glad to be back at work so you can relax?!?! That’s how I am feeling today!

My parents decided to come down for a quick visit, so as soon as they got here we made my dad start cooking. In true Roper fashion we celebrated Independence Day with fried chicken, potato salad, beans and key lime pie. This year we watched the fireworks from the top of my office’s parking structure, and although the fireworks were a little disappointing, I was just happy to actually see some this year! The rain held back long enough for us to enjoy them, and it was great to spend the family time together.

My parents left after we all had lunch together at the Salt Lick on Saturday (yum!). It was a very nice, but quick, visit. They will be out again at the end of this month for Amelia’s baptism, so that will be nice.

Pretty much the rest of the weekend was spent painting our family room. I don’t know what has come over me. I’m crazy!! The color is a little bright, so I am going to let it grow on me for a bit before I decide to paint over it.

Oh, and just for the fun of it, here’s a picture of the adorable Amelia.
