Weekend Update
So after weeks of waiting for my extremely busy husband to upload photos to our site, I learned to do it myself! He was so impressed.
Under the “photos” section you’ll see pictures from SXSW and the bluebonnets from back in March, as well as current house pictures and some shots from this weekend’s Lavender Festival in Fredericksburg.
You’ve probably also noticed a new design to the webpage. I am really working at keeping it up to date now so wish me luck!
Like I said, this past weekend we went with the Coleman’s to Fredericksburg for Becker Vineyards annual Lavender Festival. My sister and I both love lavender so it was a really fun. While we were there we did some wine tasting (it was so-so) and walked in the lavender fields. Earlier in the day we walked around the town of Fredericksburg a little bit and got some hilarious photos of Amelia with a mohawk. The one above is at the vineyard- Eric is so great with her! She just loves to smile at him. You have to check out the rest of the photos- Amelia is getting so big!
You know who else is getting big? Reese! She is just under 70 pounds now but still acts like a puppy. She has calmed down a lot compared to how she used to be, but I keep waiting for the lab in her to kick in. Case in point- yesterday we took her on an hour hike in the greenbelt in our neighborhood. When we got home I bathed her (she was caked in mud!) and then we went inside to chill out for a little bit before doing the rest of our Sunday stuff. Everything was fine, Eric on one side of the couch, me on the other, and Reese on the floor with a bone. I said something similar to “Reese is fun, but I regret getting a dog,” and just as Eric was starting to list the reasons why it is great having a dog (there are some, it’s true) something in Reese clicked and she went into crazy mode. She sprang up from her bone, jumped with all four legs on to me and then bounded to the other side of the couch. Before I could recover she was back on the ground and up in my lap again, this time clawing both my legs- top and bottom! Needless to say I had instant-tears and was saying to Eric (as the blood started to come to the surface of the scratches) “Now, as you were saying- why is it good to have a dog?!?!?” I think she must have understood what I was saying.
Another funny thing she does is when Eric and I hug or kiss in front of her, she jumps up on me and will stand next to us barking- AT ME! Not at Eric, just me. She looooovvveees her dad (I don’t blame her really, but it’s funny.) Who do you think she is looking at in the above picture?? Silly dog….
