100 Things About Me- By Ellie
This was really hard! I dare you to try it:
100 Things about me:
1. I love beets, I mean seriously love them.
2. I held my high school’s record for naming the most bones/body parts in 60 seconds for 5 years.
3. I married my college sweetheart- we met the second day of our freshman year.
4. Due to #3 I failed college Chemistry my freshman year so I had to retake it. I ended up getting the 8th highest grade in the class (out of more than 100 students).
5. My first pet was named Matilda Spot Marmalade IV, but we just called her Matt the cat.
6. I am deathly afraid of two things: flying and toes.
7. I had Meningitis and Septic Arthritis when I was 3 ½ and there was a point when the doctors didn’t think I would make it.
8. After the illness I forgot how to walk and my parents had to re-teach me.
9. I once met James Earl Jones at a funeral
10. When I was born, my parents had a child in elementary school, middle school and high school.
11. People would ask my oldest sister if I was her child.
12. My parents got married after dating only 4 months and have been happy ever since.
13. When I was little, my brother tricked my sister into eating cat food.
14. My first job was at a frozen yogurt shop when I was 16.
15. My dream car as a child was a canary yellow Honda Prelude.
16. My arch nemesis are clovers, although I really enjoy gardening and weeding.
17. I am addicted to Pottery Barn catalogues. I call them my bible; my husband calls it my smut.
18. I love cheese in a can
19. One time when I was sick, my brother in law let me paint his toenails red so I would feel better.
20. Between crawling and walking I moved around upright on my knees, almost always with a little mermaid, or “murm” as I called it, stuck in my mouth (with the tail part out)
21. The day before I got married my sisters gave me one of the little mermaids that they had found- it was very cute.
22. I got an honorable mention at the Orange County science fair in 8th grade.
23. In 2nd grade I started a fad of wearing necklaces with a bead on them in the shape of a face. I sold them at lunch for $0.10 and had to give the school a cut of the profits.
24. One of my dad’s relatives (great grandfather or uncle, I can’t remember) died from a rattlesnake bite.
25. I have been skinny dipping once.
26. I have climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan.
27. When I am at stoplights I like to watch the grass move in the wind. It’s relaxing.
28. My mom once ran over my foot with her car on accident.
29. I was baptized when I was 23.
30. My husband is my god father and he loves to remind me of that fact.
31. I am going to have the great honor of becoming my niece’s god mother in the next few months.
32. My favorite color is pink but that’s obvious.
33. My mom thinks I’m “beautiful inside and out”
34. Two of the happiest days in my life were the days my nieces were born.
35. The saddest day of my life was the day we lost Elizabeth.
36. One of my favorite places in the world is the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
37. One of my most prized possessions is now at the bottom of the Hoover Dam, having been accidentally thrown over the side by my husband.
38. I cry at everything- commercials, the national anthem, lovely stories (that don’t even involve me!) fireworks, kids playing- everything!
39. Oddly enough though I didn’t cry when my husband proposed, even though my whole life I was convinced I would.
40. I did, however, cry my whole wedding day- starting at 5:00 a.m. when my sister Samantha left a really lovely voicemail for me and lasting well into the evening after the reception ended. It was just a magical day!
41. Two movies I ALWAYS cry at: Homeward Bound and A League of Their Own.
42. I have probably played about 250 hours of poker so far in my life.
43. I always write thank you notes, even if they are late.
44. My sister Sarah and I have a psychic connection- we don’t need to speak to communicate.
45. My second toe is longer than my big toe
46. When I was younger, I was known to randomly enumerate reasons why a person should not to have a dog, and now I have one! A 1 ½ year old yellow lab named Reese.
47. I am always on the hunt for the perfect Chardonnay.
48. Ha- but I do keep a box of Franzia in my refrigerator for casual drinking!
49. I have an irrational fear of ladybugs.
50. My favorite book is East of Eden.
51. One time I gave myself a hickey on my arm and my mom thought there was something seriously wrong with me.
52. I once had a hickey on my neck (from a certain husband) and I actually tried hiding it (unsuccessfully) by wearing a turtleneck.
53. I have a bad habit of buying things and then returning them. I am very indecisive so I need time to decide to keep things.
54. I really admire and respect my husband. I strive to be more like him every day.
55. I love his pock mark.
56. I worry all of the time, but I’m working on it. (Hence #54)
57. I have a hard time accepting compliments
58. Eric and I once fought over the primary colors.
59. I used to forge my parents signature on my orchestra practice record- and the director found out!
60. I had to go to work for two days with orange hair when my colorist messed up my highlights.
61. In college, my sorority secretly stole miscellaneous items from all of the other sorority houses.
62. I graduated college a year early- one of my biggest regrets in life so far.
63. I love to cook, even if I’m not very good at it.
64. I used to be tanorexic- I was addicted to tanning salons!
65. I received the dunce cap award for the most spelling errors when I was on the yearbook staff in high school- the next year I was the Copy Editor, go figure!
66. I gave up trying to keep a balanced checkbook years ago.
67. I haven’t been able to drink a Cape Cod since my bachelorette party.
68. I once caught my husband wearing socks with flip flops!
69. I have been cutting his hair for the past four years.
70. I love all things preppy- but have never found a polo that fit me right.
71. My husband won’t allow me to put anything toile in our house ☺
72. I once found an egg in a bush and took care of it like it was a child- I wrapped it in a towel and put it on a swing. When I pushed the swing the egg fell and broke. I didn’t realize it was unfertilized at the time, so for years I thought I had killed a baby bird.
73. When I was in third grade, a car pulled up to me and the man inside asked if I could help him find his lost puppy. I ran all the way home. True story.
74. As a child my family dubbed me the “Tape Queen” since I used it on everything- I even got it as stocking stuffers for Christmas.
75. I have been friends with the same group of girls for over 10 years, and even though all relationships ebb and flow, I know they will be in my life forever- there’s just too much history there! You know who you are- I love ya!
76. I once sent an email to a crush and my friend Jami unsent without me knowing because she thought I would regret it- Thanks Jami!
77. I am a homebody.
78. Every person I meet inspires me.
79. I LOVE hearing my husband sing, even if he doesn’t always hit the right note.
80. I can be both neurotic and easy-going at the same time.
81. I like everything to be organized and in it’s place (neurotic) but have designated areas of the house that I am ok with being messy (easy-going)
82. I always need there to be a plan (neurotic) but I am always open to it changing (easy-going), as long as a new plan is created (neurotic again)
83. In first grade I tried out for the hand bells group at our school and didn’t make it, but I did have a solo in choir that year.
84. I still love to sing, but mostly in private.
85. One of my favorite things to do is try on all of my clothes and try to make new outfits.
86. Sometimes I sleep in contorted positions because I feel bad about moving the cats out of the way.
87. I feel really bad that I wasn’t there when my husband broke his leg playing hockey. I usually went to his games but I missed that one.
88. I think the greatest sound in the world is a baby laughing- so pure!
89. Another favorite sound is quaking aspens.
90. The first time my husband and I said “I love you” we were standing in the rain.
91. I am a fanatic for symmetry.
92. When I was younger my friends and I would choreograph rollerblading dances to the New Kids on the Block.
93. I love the smell of rain.
94. I believe in the Golden Rule.
95. My husband and I took classes and had choreographed moves for our first dance at the wedding. We practiced for months before the wedding, and ended up scratching it two weeks before after seeing ourselves dancing on video.
96. I live my life like I’m on camera.
97. I really enjoy being a hostess and having people over to our house.
98. I keep waiting for the ice cream diet to come out.
99. Another great sound is the beep of the door alarm followed by one bark from Reese- signaling Eric is home from work.
100. I love my life and feel so blessed- I never though it would be this good!

Ellie, you forgot to mention that you were in love with Justin Timberlake and that one of your boy friends made a sign for you to take to an InSync concert that says “Justin, you’re all I ever wanted”. And we still have it in our garage for proof. Love you, Mom
