Maria and Robert’s Wedding
Ug, I’m getting back into the habit of not posting! Ooopss, Sorry!
The biggest thing that has happened since my last post was our trip to California for Maria and Robert’s wedding. It was a wonderful trip! We got in Thursday afternoon and went straight to the hall to help decorate (after having lunch at in-n-out, of course!). The hall was already starting to come together, but there was still a lot to be done. After we worked for a while we went to the church for the rehearsal. Of course I cried- I am such a wuss. :) Once the rehearsal was over we all went back to the hall for a quick dinner and got back to work. There were so many people there helping, it was really neat that the whole family participated. We stayed there until about 9:30 and then went back to Eric’s parent’s house. On Friday morning, Jessica and I went to get our nails done while Eric visited with his grandparents. In the afternoon, we went down to Orange County to spend a little bit of time with Stephanie, who we hadn’t seen since we moved. I miss her so much! She is such a wonderful person and I am so glad to have her as my friend! On Friday night, Eric, Sarah, Jason and I went on a double date like we used to- to the Cheesecake Factory- yum! We had an awesome time, as usual, but of course it made me want them to move here even more!!!!
On Saturday, Eric went to do his groomsman thing pretty early, so I hung out with “the fam” while we all got ready. Eric’s sister is so much fun to be around, so getting ready wasn’t the usual “I-hate-my-hair-I-just-want-to-chop-it-off” drama for me. :) (Although I did warn her that 9 times out of 10 I cry about my hair while getting ready for big events- again, I am such a wuss!) AND, when all was said and done, I think we looked pretty good- especially Jessica! Whatta hottie!
Anyhow, we got to the church and claimed our spot near the aisle. It was pretty cool being in the family section- it really felt like I was an official member!
The ceremony was really nice, and Maria, the bride, looked amazing!! Her dress was gorgeous-wow! The best part was exchanging looks with Eric throughout the ceremony and knowing exactly what he was thinking- “remember when we did this?” Plus he looked so handsome standing up there in his tux-whatta hunk! (I guess Maria and Elmiro made some pretty cute kids, if I do say so myself.) :)
At the reception, I sat at a table with all of the cousins who weren’t in the wedding and I had a blast! This was the first time hanging out with some of them, and we had fun teasing eachother. Even though there were 400 people there, Maria and Robert did a really good job of making it still feel intimate. The speeches were all really good (especially Lisa’s!) and what they said to each other was very sweet and tender. I’m sure most girls are like this, but I love it when we get to see the more sensitive side of a man, especially when he is professing his love in front of 400 people! After the speeches, they showed a really cute picture slide show and Eric and I even made it into some! There were a bunch of pictures of family members from our wedding, which I thought was totally cool. Once all of the traditional events were over, we danced until about 12:30 and then remembered that we had an early flight the next day :(
After a long weekend setting up the hall, catching up with friends and family, attending an emotion-filled wedding and dancing the night away- the most wonderful sound in the world was the flight attendant saying “Mr. and Mrs. Falcao, you can move to the front of the plane.” Ahhhhhhh…you gotta love first class. :)
