Crawfish

June 29th, 2006 by Ellie

So now that I am managing my own building and am making relationships with different vendors around the city, I am starting to see some fringe benefits of the job! Last weekend Eric and I were invited to a Crawfish festival with a couple of my other co-workers. It was so much fun! Not only were the drinks flowing and the food plentiful and yummy, but it was on a boat that went around Lake Austin. Right on the lake are some AMAZING houses that would even put some Newport Beach homes to shame. The crawfish was tasty, although a lot of work for not a lot of food. We even “sucked the head” which was interesting- there really wasn’t much meat but the spicy flavor was yummy. They also served sausage, corn and potatoes. We all drank margaritas and enjoyed the view and talked- all in all a really fun event that could never be duplicated in California.

Hey…It’s probably hotter here than there. 97 at the moment. Nope, not going out side, cats and dogs living together here in the house (Bennett’s here for a visit while S/J/A are at the Cape). We been working on the vacated bedroom, just about to throw some paint on it, and then re-arrange for a bed and Mom’s dressers. Party time on the Potter barge for the 4th, with an icecream social at one of there neighbors before the fireworks on the lake. I must say that’s really fun and LSL puts on a GOOD show. Let’s see… I have to work tomorrow, but not too much. After the fourth we go up to the north of Illinois for that loop, then up to Chicago on the 10th for some business meetings, with one on the golf course somewhere. We’ll be home Thursday. The garage is still clean, and we are probably going to have another load to the Salvation Army again before long. OK, great to hear your stories, and we hope to see you guys sometime when I can get some time off.

    Love you, Daddyo.
