Eric speaks (or: how I learned to jump on the bandwagon and become a UT fan)

January 9th, 2006 by Eric

I guess at some point you have to stop hiding behind your content-writing better half and actually write a post. Perhaps the floodgates are now open.

Austinites love their sports and their teams. It was so amazing to be a witness to not only the best sporting event I have ever seen (tied with the Angel’s 2002 World Series) but to the most awesome celebration of victory that was shared by thousands and thousands of people all around Austin.

Within 60 seconds of the conclusion of the game, we (coworkers and family) were standing in the street cheering at the passing cars and looking at the burnt orange UT Tower. 10 seconds after that and for the next several hours we heard the honks of thousands of horns, the cheers, screams, high fives and hugs from total strangers…and of course, singing of “we are the champions.”

Yes, we’re from California. Yes, we totally jumped on the bandwagon. But hey, we were welcomed aboard and we are fans for good.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for a post all about the awesome company that I work for that provides the best rates on car, motorcycle, furniture and just about anything you can think of shipping

Oh and don’t forget to check out the photo gallery, there have been five albums added over the past few days.

    Hi Eric and Ellie,

First of all we would like to wish you both a happy new year! It looks like you guys have been busy since moving to Texas. We go on your website from time to time and it’s kind of like a soap opera because you never know where Eric and Ellie will be next. You guys look very happy and that makes us happy. Congratulations on the new home and we are truly glad that things are working out for you as you intended.

The only thing that I’m not to fond of is how quickly you forgot where your roots are from. I’m a UCLA fan and even I rooted for USC!! You bandwagon whores!! LOL! I guess I would do the same if I was scared for my safety, those fans really take it personal out there!

Can’t wait to see the photos of you moving into your house and making it a home.

    Love always,
    Robert and Maria

    XOXOXOXOXO
