Misc.
What a wonderful past couple of days we have had! Sarah was in town, so we frantically tried to show her everything cool that we have discovered about Austin so far in the 3.5 days she was here! It was really nice having her here. Oddly enough, it made Austin feel more like “home.” Sarah and I have never lived apart, so it was wonderful having her nearby again.
On Saturday night, Eric’s co-worker and his wife invited us over for a fondu dinner party with one other couple. Wow, they sure know how to do fondu! It was better than anything we have ever had at fondu restaurants (and paid tons of $$$ for!!) and the company was great too :)
Yesterday, Eric and I saw Brokeback Mountain and then snuck into Pride and Prejudice (both good love stories…) Then we went to our new favorite place (Wholefoods Grocery Store) and picked up wine, cheese and bread. We came home and watched Home Alone, ate the yummy food and just had a wonderfully lazy evening!
Today I am working on getting together all of the misc. documents that we need for our home loan, sending x-mas gifts/cards, and doing laundry. You know, they actually make it pretty easy to get a home loan. Eric and I aren’t very organized with all of our official documents (bills, bank statements, paycheck stubs etc.) so I thought we would have a tough time, but really the lender spells everything out and makes it fairly easy. Speaking of our house, it is looking very good! The cabinets and counter-tops are in and the walls have been painted. In a normal situation our house would be done in two weeks! But because of the holidays and Hurricane Katrina, it will more likely be between 30-45 days. I’m pretty sure our closing date is going to move up to January 31st, but don’t quote me on it…. :)
On Friday we are driving up to St. Louis for Christmas, which we are really looking forward to. We will be coming back to Austin next Wednesday and then Eric’s parents come in on Thursday. I better get some work done because the next two weeks are full of fun!!

Hi all you Falcao’s. How do you like the E’s new house? Jane and I were fortunate enough to see it when we were there at Thanksgiving. It’s sooo exciting, I can’t wait to come again when they’re moved in. Our time with Ellie and Eric for Christmas was great! We’re winding down now with Sarah and she will go home on Sunday at 6:00am. I think I’ll just stay up all night and sleep all day after we drop her off at the airport. Have fun touring around Austin, we just love it there and it’s a city that’s so alive, good food and good people and beautiful as well. It’s been really gloomy here for weeks, it would be nice to see some sun for a change. Love to you all and be safe traveling.
